The Sleuths

Girl Detectives officially investigated their first literary crime in 2018, when Kat Albrecht and Kaitlyn Filip had a four-hour break between classes in their first year of law school. It was there, spurred on by the deep desire to not do the homework, that they began developing their very first project.

7 years and a couple of JDs, PhDs, an MFA and Pilates instructor certification later, Kaitlyn and Kat have co-authored numerous science and law articles, given presentations all around the world, and won grants and awards for their academic work.

During a regularly scheduled Wednesday night agency meeting, they realized they’d never actually told the stories that they came up with in that law school conference room. Thus, Girl Detectives serves as a home for those stories: from fact to fiction to film reviews.
